Microhardness: Micro-Duromat 4000

The micro-hardness tester Micro-Duromat 4000, attached to the optical microscope Reichert-Jung, permits the application of micro and ultra micro hardness indentations in a force range of 0,0005N to 2N. This force range encompasses the entire micro-hardness range (0,02N to 2N) as well as a large part of the ultra micro-hardness range (0,00005N to 0,02N). As the applied test forces are extremely small, the range of application is increased considerably, thus including e.g. thin layer, finely structured surfaces, fibres, sintered materials.

• Vickers: pyramidal diamond, apex angle 136°
• Knoop: pyramidal diamond, angle along long axis: 172.5°, short axis: 130°;
